Key Milestones

Developing the Saxilby with Ingleby Neighbourhood Plan has been a challenging, and at times difficult process, but ultimately very rewarding. With the Referendum less than two weeks away, we’re looking back at how we got here.
Here are the Plan’s Key milestones:

2012 – Selected as a neighbourhood planning front-runner: Received funding from the DCLG to create a neighbourhood plan

January 2013 – West Lindsey District Council approved the designation of Saxilby with Ingleby as a Neighbourhood Area

September 2015 – a new steering group is formed by Saxilby with Ingleby Parish Council, and work re-commences on the plan.

January 2015 -April 2016 – Continuous close working between the Parish Council, the Steering Group and the Community, towards preparing a draft Plan; Public Consultations, a business consultation, young people and older people consultations, Community questionnaire.

May – June 2016 – Public consultation on the draft Neighbourhood Plan.

November 2016 – Saxilby with Ingleby Neighbourhood Plan submitted to West Lindsey District Council for independent examination

November 2016-January 2017 – Regulation 16 Public consultation on the submission version of the draft Neighbourhood Plan, led by West Lindsey District Council

February 2017– Independent examination concludes; the examiner has approved that the Saxilby with Ingleby Neighbourhood Plan should go to a local referendum, subject to a small number of changes that she has deemed necessary to pass the examination requirements for a Neighbourhood Plan to West Lindsey District Council arrange a referendum.

23rd March 2017 – Referendum! Saxilby with Ingleby votes on the plan.
